UK’s Leading Business Process Management Company Ran a POCathon to Test Qualitia
We all know that great products can change the world. By that, we mean those products that solve complex problems. UK’s leading technology-enabled business process management company, which is also known for providing outsourcing solutions, used Qualitia during a POCathon and achieved phenomenal results.
The Senior Business Leader of the company shed light on their reason for conducting a POCathon. Their objective concerning test automation was to automate end-to-end regression workflows on their education services platform, which allowed them to monitor the training and development for the school workforce. They wanted to explore the possibility of participation from team members who weren’t Automation Experts. For this purpose, they gathered five teams of Business Analysts & Manual Testers. Additionally, their objective was also to test the possibility of faster automation, with the current time-spend being 3-4 days to automate a single workflow.
When questioned about why they chose POCathon as an approach to address this purpose, the Senior Vice-President said that, from a psychological standpoint, the time constraints of a hack day encourage teams to work together quickly and maintain a sharp focus on the task ahead. Hack days push people out of their comfort zone and provide an excellent opportunity to learn new things. From the business’ perspective, a hack day also gives direct and quicker access to change-makers in an industry.
The rarity of this approach not only emphasized the challenges but created much anticipation about the results.
“This was the first time in Qualitia’s history that we were challenged to deliver on automating complex business workflows in such a short period. Kudos to the team who managed to pull off automation of 500 test cases in just 14 hours. It’s incredible especially because the team had limited exposure to the tool before the POCathon. It’s gratifying to see Qualitia living up to its commitment of simplicity, reliability, and speed of automation. We have indeed raised the bar.”- Amaresh Shirsat, COO at Qualitia Software.
The Senior Business leader also highlighted about how they were thoroughly impressed with Qualitia’s performance. They managed to automate 500 test cases in 14 hours, taking care of their speed-related criteria. Qualitia’s need for no programming knowledge, user-friendly architecture and easy-to-use nature, made it possible for anyone to automate. The most interesting part was that none of the people involved were trained on the how to use Qualitia. That meant they learned how to use it there and then! Some of the other aspects that stood out were simplified database execution, reusability of components (objects, functions, test cases), multi-iteration execution and effective reporting.
“Automation is becoming an essential business focus for many companies. So, when the client reached out to us saying that they would like to evaluate us in the most unconventional way ever, we were excited. It’s incredible to see how the teams delivered at such a tight timeline. I was there during the event, the energy and synergy amongst the group was remarkable. All I can say is that exciting times lie ahead as we are planning to take the engagement to the next level.”- Rahul Chaudhari, CEO at Qualitia Software.
He gladly explained that the POCathon was a huge success not only concerning Qualitia’s performance but also because of the empowerment it gave their teams. Participating teams across their organization received a chance to demonstrate highest level of performance.
